Personal Income Tax

State income tax liability is established under a seven-bracket rate table: for married persons filing joint returns, rates progress from 2.4% of taxable income under $8,000 to 8.5% of taxable income in excess of $64,000. Rates are derived from your adjust income of your Federal Income Tax. Consult your accountant.

Rio Rancho: 6.1875%
Sandoval County: 5.50%
Santa Fe: 6.275

Forty percent of the state's revenues are from gross receipts tax. The statewide gross receipts tax of 5% applies to basically all goods and services exchanged. Local communities may levy additional increments.
